CSX-Sucks!

Denied Claims

Claim Invalid??

Railroaders work, and expect to be paid. It's a simple idea. Less work means less pay. Likewise, more work should mean more pay, but that's not the way things work on the CSX. According to union contracts, there are situations that warrant additional pay, for additional work, but more often than not, these claims are not honored by the CSX.

New Orleans public belt railroad really. You definitely proved me wrong.
I mean if that big railroad asks for it they will get it. Give me a
break. This union sucks ass so bad I’m almost pulling for the company
that’s how worthless I think the union is and the local guys who
represent us. All you have to do to be qualified to be a union rep is
be able to say. Put a claim in and that’s it your qualified.

Some Railroads have already requested this! You can comment on the
requests!

Here is one request asking for, no eot, no hours of service, no drug
test, and no certification!

Do some research before you start calling others idiots and claiming we
give the company a reason to abuse us!

Subject: Application of Regulation Relief
To whom it may concern,
In response to the Emergency Relief Docket activated by the FRA, the
New Orleans Public
Belt Railroad would like to apply for relief from the following FRA
regulations:
Random Drug and Alcohol Testing
This relief would limit exposure between employees and health care
workers.
EOT Requirements
We would still provide a flag or flashing light for the rear of each of
our trains.
In anticipation of potential personnel shortages, relief from the
following regulations would
allow the NOPB to direct its resources towards remaining fluid:
Efficiency Testing
Hours of Service Regulations for
Conductors
Engineers
Signal Contractors
Monthly Signal Testing
Weekly and Monthly Track Inspections
Locomotive Blue Card 92 & 184 Day Inspections
Class 1 Brake Testing Requirements
All of our trains will still receive Transfer Train Brake Tests
Locomotive Engineer & Conductor Certification Requirements
The NOPB would still only operate with personnel who have demonstrated
proficiency for the respective crafts. We are anticipating DMV closures
and do
not anticipate the ability to receive the hearing and vision testing
required to
maintain current certifications.

U.S. Department 1200 New Jersey Ave., S.E.
of Transportation Washington, DC 20590
Federal Railroad
Administration
NOTICE
FRA Administrator’s Declaration of Emergency Situation:
Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19)
Pursuant to Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) § 211.45,
Federal Railroad
Administration Administrator Ronald L. Batory has determined that the
imminent threat and
exposure to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) poses a risk of
serious illness that
constitutes an “emergency situation” as related to railroad
operations.
In making this determination, the Administrator notes the President has
declared a national
emergency related to COVID-19 and the World Health Organization (WHO)
has made the
assessment of COVID-19 and it is now characterized as pandemic, which
can cause serious
illness to high risk populations. Governors of several States have
issued various Emergency
Declarations related to COVID-19 outbreaks. The Centers for Disease
Control and
Prevention (CDC) has reported more than 1,600 cases across forty-six
(46) States and the
number of cases of this respiratory illness is expected to increase.
Therefore, the Administrator has activated the Emergency Relief Docket
(FRA-2020-0002)
for Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) as of March 13, 2020, and the
emergency relief
provisions of 49 CFR § 211.45 are in effect

Yes hos is suspended for trucks. The hours-of-service laws, which
mandate how many hours a truck driver may work and have been in place
for truck drivers since 1938, are suspended at a federal level for the
first time in history.

Federal Railroad Administration

1300 Now.cracy or SE Washington, DC 20500

March 19, 2020

Mr. Fred Mattison Amtrak System Road Foreman of Engines 1 High Speed
Way Wilmington, DE 19801

Re: Emergency Docket FRA-2020-0002

Dear Mr. Mattison:

This letter is in reference to Amtrak's petition dated March 16, 2020,
requesting temporary emergency relief from the requirements of Title 49
Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) sections 240.217(c)(1) and
242.201(c)1), Time limitations for making determinations, due to the
COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

On March 13. 2020. FRA Administrator Ronald L. Batory activated the
emergency relief docket (ERD) in response to the coronavirus pandemic
currently occurring throughout States. The Federal Railroad
Administration (FRA) Railroad Safety Board (Board) considered Amtrak's
request under the provisions of 49 CFR § 211.45, Petition for Emergency
Waivers of Safety Rules. A copy of Amtrak's petition is available for
review and comment in the ERD (Docket Number FRA-2020-0002), United

In support of its request, Amtrak stated the pandemic has either
overwhelmed or closed medical facilities that Amtrak utilizes for
employee physicals necessary for engineer and conductor certifications
under 49 CFR Parts 240 and 242, and as a result, Amtrak's employees
have experienced difficulty scheduling appointments as medical
emergencies are appropriately being prioritized. Amtrak also notes that
the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's recommendation for
social distancing." State governments ordering the cancellation of
large public gatherings, and the limiting of non-essential travel has
reduced the facilities Amtrak has available for recertification classes
and training.

On March 18, 2020, FRA Railroad Safety Board (the Board) considered
Amtrak's petition for emergency relief and all associated information.
The Board grants temporary relief from the 36-month certification period
of $$ 240.217(c)(1) and 242.201(c)(1) for any Amtrak locomotive engineer
or conductor currently certified under Part 240 or Part 242, as
applicable, whose certification becomes due and is unable, because of
the impact of the coronavirus, to complete all certification
requirements, subject to the following condition:

Amtrak must retain a continuously updated list of the certified
employees affected and each employee's certification record must be
marked to show that individual's compliance with this waiver.

The Board reserves the right to reopen any docket and reconsider any
decision made pursuant to these emergency procedures based upon its own
initiative or based upon information or comments otherwise received. See
49 CFR $ 211.45(j(1).

This emergency waiver expires 60 days from the date of this letter. FRA
reserves the right to amend or revoke this waiver upon receipt of
information pertaining to the safety of railroad operations, or in the
event of non-compliance with any condition of this waiver.

The point of contact for this action is Christian B. Holt, Stall
Director, Operating Practices Division. Mr. Holt can be reached at
2023660978 or at christian.holt@dot.gov. In any future correspondence
regarding this waiver, please refer to Docket Number FRA-2020-0002.

Sincerely,

I haven't seen any petition yet for rail hos change but they did it
with trucks!

In an unprecedented move, the Trump administration suspended an
82-year-old road safety law for some truck drivers, showing how much
coronavirus is pressuring retailers and hospitals to maintain cleaning
and medical supplies

You guys are so full of crap. Not one thing on here has come to pass.
This is the reason the company abuses us. That reason being that we as
a whole are a bunch of dumb assess. The crap the previous guy is
talking about that we are going to go back to 6 for 8 and stuff like
that. Where are you getting that information from buddy. Your head
just made that shit up. Nothing on here is true. Except we are a bunch
of fools and this site proves it over and over again on a daily basis.
Also stop using the term brother when everyone in this union would cut
anyone’s throat because it’s all about the individual out here nothing
about brothers going on out here.

Has anyone actually seen a sanitized locomotive?

I haven't!

At CSX we put the shareholders before employee health and safety.

CDC guidelines are not possible in our occupation.

Access to soap and water while you're on duty? HA!

Social distancing? Good luck.

Remember that when you get into a taxi cab with three or four other
men.

CSX we put the shareholders before employee health and safety!

The economy will not matter when you are dead.

Chinese researchers found that while the infection rate among men and
women is the same, the death rate among men is 2.8% compared with 1.7%
for women.

If you don't get sick you can transfer it.

The coronavirus driving the current pandemic can live on plastic and
stainless steel surfaces for up to three days, researchers say in a
study published as a letter to the editor in the New England Journal of
Medicine.

Where can the travel restriction exemption letter for CSX be located? I
have seen one from other railroads on social media and people claiming
to have theirs from CSX. Everyone will need one when state or federal
government issues a mandatory shelter in place, heaven forbid, martial
law is enforced. Thanks.

I have found in my experience if theres no crew packs or toilet paper
around, get on the ground and use ballast, it grips good just blow off
each rock before wiping. You can find some nice big green leaves for a
few finishing wipes if you feel like you need it. My hemrrhoids are
pretty bad from sitting on my ass all these years and even so ballast
works for me and it can work for you to.

Two-person crew bill awaits Governor’s signature in Washington State
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio, March 17 — After more than seven years of hard word
by the BLET’s Washington State Legislative Board and their counterparts
within the SMART Transportation Division, a two-person crew bill has
passed both chambers of the state legislature in Washington. The bill
is currently on the desk of Governor Jay Inslee awaiting his signature.

According to BLET Washington State Legislative Board Chairman Shahraim
Allen, HB 1841 —Establishing Minimum Crews on Certain Trains — passed
out of the Washington State House on a Concurrence Vote (64 yea-33 nay)
on March 10, 2020. It was then signed by Madame Speaker Laurie Jinkins
on March 11, 2020, for its finalization in the House. In its final
review in the Senate, the additional signature of Lt. Governor /
President Cyrus Habib was added on March 12, 2020.

“However, even at this endpoint the railroad lobbyists continue to make
attempts to stifle the progress of this much needed safety legislation,”
Brother Allen said. “Despite this fact, we are taking counter measures
to ensure once and for all that this bill makes it across the finish
line in the behalf of our membership. As Chairman of the BLET
Washington State Legislative Board, I remain resolute and resolved in
the successful outcome of our two-person crew bill. I would like to
thank all of the members within our great fraternal organization that
have been supportive in our Board’s efforts in establishing this much
needed legislation, which we have been in pursuit of for the last seven
years.”

There will be more information forthcoming upon the bill’s final
passage into law.
