I want to say THANK YOU to the person that wrote this statement below
from December 29, 2009. Barbara Jean Hopkins is my Aunt. I was 4 when
she died. So Thank you again for the kind words you said about her, I
really appreciate  it.

Before bashing ALL female employees, maybe we should remember Miss
Barbara Jean Hopkins who perished on the B&O east of Cumberland in
1980
when the engineer of an opposing train missed a signal and ran into
her.
 Her side of the cab (GP-40) was sheared off and she was found in the
wreckage.  I had met her 2 years earlier.  She was assigned as a
fireman on the Chessie Steam Special but the cab of 2101 was so
crowded, she had to ride back in the coach.  Everyone who knew her
said
she was as dilligent and competent as any man out there.
