It sure sounds like Mr. Harrison is quite accomplished as a RR leader.
My question is the price tag. He joined CP from CN using lost deferred
benefits as a justification for a big salary.
Canadian Pacific Railway Limited
NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING
OF SHAREHOLDERS AND PROXY STATEMENT April 20, 2016
On p.71 they attempt to justify his $2.2 Mil salary by saying he
forfeited his $1.5 Mil pension from CN. Thus he is only netting $.7
What a load! When he joined CN he agreed to that compensation package.
When he left CN it was not CP's problem to compensate him for money
*he* chose to forfeit.
Apparently the CP stockholders saw through that and rejected the "Say
on pay" proposal the next year. See:
So I believe Mr. Harrison is a highly capable person and will help CSX
but the price tag can't be justified by his former compensation since
his future earnings prospects were seriously diminished at the request
of the shareholders.
