Most all of my peers outside of the railroad make substantially more
money than I do. My buddies working in tech and finance make more than
double what I do in my better years. They work in clean offices, are
home nights and weekends, and have benefits like you couldn't imagine.
Their lifetime earnings smoke ours and they will retire with a level of
wealth and a lifestyle we can't touch.
I know railroading works out for some of you, but there are a bunch of
people here who have pigeonholed themselves in a dead end career.
You guys could have amounted to more and lived better doing it.
If csx looks like success to you, then great, this might be all you're
good for. Many of you could do better, and you are still young enough
to do it.
