I didn't count in grades. That's another big factor. I remember a
crew a few years back that got by a stop signal. They stated they
missed the advanced warning from the intermediate. The problem with the
story being on an inclining grade even if they missed the approach
signal still running 50 mph all one had to do was put the train
throttle in idle upon seeing the stop signal even just 40 car lengths
away the train would of stalled on it's own before the absolute
signal. They just couldn't bring themselves to just tell the truth.
