Rule #1 -- Don't get hurt.

LE 30+

This contract if ratified will only run till 2020 it'll include the
back time for 2015-16. I recently got a call from one of the LE's
still working. He stated the BLE General Committees were trying to get
an on-property contract under an hourly wage system like the IC/CN
agreement. The carrier walked away from the negotiation table. I think
they're better off under the national contract. To many people would
lose jobs under the hourly system without a iron clad job protection
agreement in place. I remember the last UTU crew consist agreement on
CSX (C&O) where they received $43,000 around 1994 for the last brakeman
plus 30 shares of stock per year, lonesome pay etc... the catch was it
only applied to those marked up as a trainmen at the time of
implementation date. The week before that date they marked up everyone
they could to engine service even though they didn't stand for any
jobs. The day afterwards they were all cutback to trainmen.

That's why I asked. Technically you were employed with the company at
the time that this new contract is effective since it goes back to
2015, so even if you left or were furloughed, you should be covered
back to when the last contract ran out, right? So if you resigned in
Feb 2017, you are entitled to back pay before you resigned back to when
the last contract expired. And if you were furloughed 3 months last
year, and 2 months this year, you should get back pay for the months you
did work since it expired, does that make sense? Help me out here. Any
info would help.

I believe everyone is entitled to back pay, to include resigned &
furloughed employees. Also, I am pretty sure it must be paid within 90
days of ratification. With these jackasses, though, who knows how back
pay will work. As a resigned guy myself, i am not holding my breath.

Hey guys, this is my first contract renewal. As far as the back pay is
concerned, do they pay that soon after the contract is agreed upon? Do
you get it if you are furloughed? What about someone that resigned?
Would they still get that too? Technically they were under the contract
at the time. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

This is for conductor 1-10

Eugene goes to the vet and says, "My horse is constipated."

The vet says, "Take one of these pills, put it in a long tube, stick
the other end in the horse's ass, and blow the pill up there."

Eugene comes back the next day, and he looks very sick.

The vet says, "What happened?"

Eugene says, "The horse blew first."

Anyone else notice what all these CSX train derailments have in common
lately; since Harrison. They all have 140+ rail cars with large blocks
of emtys.

RRJim:

Looks like the proposed new national contract does in fact contain
health-care costs/increases. Not bad though. Don't see any work rule
changes.

Many people now days are 1st time ever union members & seem to think
they are entitled to a lot because dues have to be contributed. Well,
sure, they need to get involved. Local meetings are just not always
easy to attend even if/when an entire membership wants to be there.

Safety First.

Whether it's 5 for the former UTU (SMART) or 6 for the BLE-T not much
difference. He said 3-7 people show up in his post and I responded it
was no meeting or barely a meeting. I don't get it. 12-15 years ago
our BLE meetings were standing room only. The only that's changed is
there's a new generation of railroaders. They need to get involved.
I'm reading people bitching about the new contract and I've read it.
It's not bad with decent pay raises, back pay, keeps the current
healthcare premium intact with no increases etc... it's damn good for
what's going on in this country under Republicans & Trump.

Mr. Ed

I enjoy your posts. The good horse sense you bring to the table is
appreciated. Eugene is very quiet about hitting the crack pipe and you
brought it to light. I look forward to your future posts about you and
Eugene's shenanigans around the barnyard.

Mr. Ed.

Gotta agree with Conductor 1-10, your posts were entertaining for a
few days, but it is getting old and it has ran it's course. If you
have something relevant to this site "CSX SUCKS' then by all means
post away. Otherwise your not being funny man, your wasting your time
posting crap that nobody reads or finds informative.

Would you stop with the Mr Ed bit. It's not funny. Obviously you're
from the millennial generation because every one of them are just like
you. You think you have a good joke and then you repeat it for 3 years.
No creativity or mind of your own because you spent your life playing
video games. Same memes over and over again, same dumbass made up
internet words over and over again. Nobody thinks it's funny.
