Safety First

Rule #1 -- Don't get hurt.

Safety is the first priority. Er, or is it the second, after money.... Or the third after getting the trains out....

NoMo: Why would I want to go all the way to New York when the little
google guy has already been there for me for the before pictures? Maybe
the New York Times or someone like that closer can do the after
pictures. Kinda like taking a trip and never leaving the farm sitting
here naked on the windmill.

Hey Robert:

That's your problem...you think to much. Quit thinking and start
acting. All you do is sit around and talk, make accusations with
absolutely no evidence.

I told you to take a trip and get before and after pictures. I showed
you where to pull plans and specs. If you think anyone is going to do
your leg work or spend their money to prove your point,
better think again.

99.9% of the people don't care...any fraud by the RRs is just a
minuscule speck compared to welfare, medicare/medicaid and defence
contracts just to name a few. On top or that, you reputation proceeds
you...without evidence your accusations are just the ranting of an old
man!

If you can't to Rockland County, Clark County is nearby. If that's
still to far, you know where the works going on, pick a locale closer
to you. One picture is worth a 1,000 words.

I was thinking more like at the Federal pen have the CSX CEO and all the
directors lined up in their shackles and chains and painting one letter
each on their signboards draped over their necks.

Whoops that leaves Slackie and Nomo out. How about

My idea would be this: If a vehicle enters the crossing, an automated
system of sprayers hoses down the side of the car with paint. Not
regular paint, of course. Even spray paint on top of automotive paint
can be removed by using buffing compound and then polishing or re
applying the clear coat to the area. This paint would be fast drying
and have extremely high solvent levels, thus allowing it to eat right
through the original finish of the car and assure that nothing less
than a full body sandblasting and repainting will repair the damage.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS PINES: PRETTY GOOD IDEA

Hey Robert:

I don't know what the scope of the work is based on the article and I
don't see a conspiracy or fraud every where. In fact, I don't see
Michael Ward tolerating that like his predecessor, John Snow did.

I found it ironic that Snow would issue a pamphlet to the T&E people
before Christmas reviewing the ethics policy and reminding us what was
acceptable to give and receive as gifts from customers etc.
While all the time CSX was issuing fraudulent invoices to the states
for crossing and signal work.

I don't know if the following link will help...

NoMo wouldn't it be more like 2 road bores per crossing slap in 2 gates
and a timing circuit ---grind off the old equipment to look new and CSX
sticks $5.5 million in someones pocket.

I've been all up in them there woods while I was stationed in Lejuene
and Quantico. Niagra Falls was a dribble when I was there. Was with
somebody visiting their brother in West Point. Then I worked for a
driver education simulator company out of Binghampton and had to go
there for their showings a couple times. Pretty country.

Hey Robert:

I'm familiar with the area, I believe Rockland County is just north of
NYC on the western side of the Hudson and heavily populated.

The towns mentioned want quiet zones (no horns) and partitioned CSX for
them. Before the zone can be established, all the crossings within the
zone have to be protected with gates.

According to your comments all the crossings already are gated. If
that's the case then, most of the money will go to realign the
approaches and upgrades. Please keep in mind that NY is unionized and
and any roadwork is twice as expensive. Considering the county's 20%
match, there will be plenty of eyes on this project.

West Point is only about 10 miles north of Rockland and is beautiful
in the Spring...might be time for a road trip, Fly into White Plains,
from there it's just a short drive across the Tappan Zee. While your
there, visit Ossining on the east bank which is home to Sing Sing
Prison. About 10 south of Sing Sing, is the Village of Sleepy Hollow.
Probably need to go back in the fall when the works done.

Make sure you have a good camera, nothing is more convincing than
before and after pictures!

10 long years of being treated badly was enough for me. I left CSX 4
years ago.
Now I see CSX, advertising on TV, radio and in print. Why? Do their
current customers get treated as badly as the employees?
Sorry for posting in a forums, this question didn't fit in any one
category.

tax-payer funds in New York State.

Here NoMo --- I found 13 sets of free gates in this great CSX crossing
robbery in New York State. I'm about sick of doing the pussy railroad
unions job for them. They should be all over this thievery crap.

The way I figure it 98% of all crossing accidents is driver fault, and
as always 100% of all crossing accidents are avoidable..

I hope this helps you Pinester:

IT IS ABOUT TIME THIS TOOK PLACE

The Trinity Railway Express has had just about enough of Fort Worth
drivers trying to beat the train, so it's doing something about it.

The TRE has closed the railroad crossing at Galvez Avenue Monday so
that it can address the issue of drivers not stopping for approaching
trains.

The TRE says after multiple collisions at that location, most caused by
drivers not heeding the flashing lights and going through or around
lowered railroad crossing gates, it will install barricades and
concrete barriers to stop cars from getting on the tracks in front of
the train.

Drivers trying to beat the train have caused four collisions in the
past ten years that resulted in vehicle damage or injuries, and one
fatality. The TRE points out that during the same period, they can
only report one collision each at eight other crossing locations and no
collisions at the majority of the 29 total railroad crossings along
TRE’s 34-mile corridor.

The TRE decided to do something about the Galvez Avenue location after
a Jan. 28 accident in which a car was on the tracks while the gates
were down and the train was sounding its horn. The car was hit by the
braking train, luckily no injuries were reported.

People who normally drive across the tracks at Galvez Avenue to get
into the neighborhood there will still be able to access the area from
4th Street until the work is complete.
