This is no surprise, All these Union are corrupt just as much as the
Railroads themselves, I think we all need to get together and file
a federal lawsuit and just see how corrupt they really are, Members
are not being informed on critical issues that are passed down from the
top union officials to the bottom, There are hundreds and hundreds
of side agreements and hand shake agreements that no one has any idea
about!!!!

We time we make a stand!!!!! NOW!!!!

Love that idea! Slow down in every single town across the country. They
preach safety, safety, safety out their arsses then safety it should be.
They want one man up there by himself responsible for everything then
slow and steady it is!

No the yard masters are not getting bought out, no the yard masters
aren't being made a management position.

What’s happening is the FRA is about to make them HOS employees since
they are responsible for movement of trains similar to how dispatchers
are HOS.

What is going to happen is the YMs will be consolidated even further
than they are now. Think like that old Huntington division YMs where
they are in one office and each guy handles multiple yards. Expect to
see similar things happen all across the system. There will still be a
few yards where you will have YMs at the yard, but those will be few and
far between.

So if you are a current yard master, get ready to move or hope you’ve
got seniority to go back on the ground. And don’t expect much
Monetary help moving, just ask the dispatchers how their move to Jax
worked out for them.

Railworkers

Real solution to this whole one man crew thing. No one will stop the
railroads from going one man. Fact is the railroad is has $$$$$ and
politicians in their pockets. The railroad is under its own
jurisdiction and what they do on their rails and property is hard to
regulate outside of federal court. So what do you do? You hit them
where it hurts. VELOCITY! On time freight. Yeah, they want to endanger
the life of a single crew member and the public, that is all fine and
dandy, but if they are coming through my town with hazmat materials,
military trains, nuclear spend fuel, dirty dirt, crude oil or any other
kind of chemical that can harm me or my neighbors then they can roll
through my town at 10 mph from one end to the other. City speed
ordinances must be put in place. No if's and's or but's! It is time
for everyone to go to your city counsel meetings and bring this to
their attention. It is not our there in the public enough. Yes, you are
getting some states to come forward but have you see it addressed
anywhere of any importance. As far as I'm concerned it takes
precedence of Trumps SOTUS! Get out there and talk to your city
counsel. Get the issue out. Put a stop to fast tracking trains running
through your towns, especially with the idea of one single tired man
all by himself on that engine who is being distracted by drivers,
pedestrians, ptc and TO screens trying to blow the horn and just pay
attention to what is going on. Slow down to 10mph through all towns!

Old hh took the maintance money layed lots of people off. Now cn cp csx,
has to pay the piper. Instead of doing maintance and due diligence, they
had nice bonuses and money went to Wall Street and Bay Street, o ya and
more bonuses. But there is a scape goat out there some where. That they
can blame all these derailments on. They fired a cprail cop. He was
getting nosey and asking questions about mountain derailment, three
people killed. No one wants to go to jail, the brass want there
bonuses. Just like the hyenas at the kill, they want all the meat for
themselves. If new hires and old hires get killed on the job because
they where pushed to the limit it was there own fault. Don’t you dare
slow down or we will fire you. And there will be lot more derailments,
maybe hydrous ammonia next in some city or town. Steel on steel defer
that maintance.

I read a post on here where guy stated doing fake brake tests on cars
and trains. As a carman for 35 years. There is more to a break test
than you think. And you better hope that a supervisor or you are
putting your name on the brake test info. If that trains goes on ground
and they start measuring piston travels and seeing if cars cut out. And
many more issues. You will be in big shit, and you know better.

Federal court orders BNSF to pay worker $696,173 for lost wages after
U.S. Department of Labor finds railroad retaliated against
whistleblower
(Source: U.S. Department of Labor press release, February 5, 2020)

DENVER, Colo. — The U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado
has ordered Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF) to pay
$696,173 in lost back and future wages to a former employee who
reported track defects, bringing the total paid to the whistleblower to
more than $1.74 million.

Previously, the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and
Health Administration(OSHA) determined that the employer violated the
whistleblower protection provisions of the Federal Railroad Safety Act
(FRSA) when it retaliated against the former employee in Denver,
Colorado. OSHA issued a preliminary order with the appropriate relief
provided by the statute, which was appealed to the U.S. District Court
for the District of Colorado.

On February 19, 2019, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the
District of Colorado ordered BNSF to pay the employee $800,000 in
emotional distress, and an additional $250,000 in punitive damages.

“Railroad employers and owners must comply with the Federal Railway
Safety Act, enacted to protect railroad workers who report hazardous
safety or security conditions,” said OSHA Acting Regional Administrator
Rita Lucero, in Denver, Colorado.

OSHA's Whistleblower Protection Program enforces the whistleblower
provisions of more These statutes protect employees from retaliation
for reporting violations of various workplace safety and health,
airline, commercial motor carrier, consumer product, environmental,
financial reform, food safety, health insurance reform, motor vehicle
safety, nuclear, pipeline, public transportation agency, railroad,
maritime and securities laws; and for engaging in other related
protected activities. For more information on whistleblower
protections, visit OSHA's Whistleblower Protection Programs webpage.

Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are
responsible for providing safe and healthful l workplaces for their
employees. OSHA's role is to help ensure these conditions for
America's working men and women by setting and enforcing standards,
and providing training, education, and assistance. For more
information, visit https://www.osha.gov.

The mission of the Department of Labor is to foster, promote, and
develop the welfare of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of
the United States; improve working conditions; advance opportunities
for profitable employment; and assure work-related benefits and rights.

Public Service Announcement; For each and every action there are
consequences! It may even be a family member or loved one that pays but
someone always pays.
This company is full of cockroaches thinking they are untouchable
right up until an unwelcome "career counseling" and they realize the
error of their ways and that their personal life has been infiltrated
and leave the company. Unfortunately there are 50 more cockroaches to
take their spot.
Apparently an example needs to be set. Why ruin so many people's
lives for the almighty dollar? Why ask for mercy when you showed none?
Why endanger your employees yet become apologetic if your family are
the ones at risk, after all you caused both situations?
We are only given one life, think about the people you are hurting,
the families struggling to put food on the table, the ones struggling
to pay medical bills for their children, and take a look in the mirror.
Every job cut is another family that has to struggle and do without even
basic needs. Jobless people have way too much time on their hands and
not much left to lose. Bad situation.
   Consequences...they can be a bitch!
