Good morning Robert:

I thought for a moment you had turned a corner...but with your last
post, you proved me wrong.

I, along with my fellow Suckers are extremely disappointed. However,
rest assured, your friends, the carriers are delighted.

You were doing good...until you let your personal feelings reassert
control. If you had just been able to resist inserting your opinions in
your last post.

Remember...admitting to yourself that you have a problem, is the first
step in overcoming it.

Concentrate on the issue...grade crossing safety and keep your personal
feelings aside!

RE:Warning signals were deactivated when train hit SUV in 2010
accident.

The Federal Rail-bought Association NEVER goes out for a single
fatality train collision unless the railroad needs a good cover story
because the real witnesses can't be lost.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-6-million-settlement-in-train-death-of-dance-teacher-20120313,0,1434945.story
In the video the gates were down and signals flashing right after
---The magic crossing fairy turn the deactivated signals back on?
Pretty pathetic when OUR investigating cops don't even know what kind
of train was involved.

The railroad signal maintenance people would learn from day 1 to have
road guards out while the signals were being worked on. The train would
of had a slow order also. So the signal maintainer just pulled off the
road guards and left? I don't think so.

http://www.icc.illinois.gov/railroad/crossing.aspx?dotId=289680Y

Docket History --- Nature of Case:
Stipulated Agreement regarding improving public safety by the
installation of digital remote monitors at 227 public highway-rail
grade crossings of the Illinois Central Railroad Company’s tracks, and
replacement of the existing incandescent signal heads with light
emitting diode (LED) signal heads at 133 public highway-rail grade
crossings of the Company’s tracks in Illinois.

Documents ---STIP Total ---$1,380,150. The trick here was to pump a
million bucks in the railroads pocket to keep signals from going in at
passive crossings saving the railroad the yearly maintenance costs
where the mickey mouse signs are.

Remote monitors TELL the railroad when the signals aren't working. If
the Feds weren't dirty this signal would go out to the local police
also.

Good morning Robert:

I see you finally found a grade crossing accident that you can honestly
blame on the carrier...in this case the CN/IC.

There is no doubt about it, pure negligence and the carrier knew it!

Old heads,

Got a question for you seeing you have seen and heard it all.

Why would a dispatcher tell a crew(sitting out of yard waiting to come
in) to write down a 6 digit number with no reason why or what its for.
Didnt match anything in disp bulletins and wasnt a car number in their
train. Other train crews heard it too and were wondering why.
Dispatcher never did tell them what it was for just ordered them to do
it. Got any ideas? We are all baffled.

Just what in the hell was this guy thinking. Texting and standing in
the middle of the tracks. Obviously he did not have a smart phone to
tell him that a train was coming. Pinetard, this sounds like something
one of your family members would do... DUH!!!!

MENLO PARK, Calif.—An executive with the PayPal online payment service
has been struck and killed by a commuter train in Northern California.

San Mateo County coroner's investigators on Sunday identified the
victim as 39-year-old Eric Salvatierra of Palo Alto.

The San Francisco Chronicle ( http://bit.ly/yCmeRK) says Salvatierra
was killed by a Caltrain on Friday morning in Menlo Park.

Commuter rail officials say he was standing on the tracks when he was
hit by a northbound train. The death is being investigated.

Salvatierra was a vice president of online payment service PayPal,
where he's worked for about five years.

PER CSX FUEL CONSERVATION HANBOOK.

Handbook was sent out to all engineers on csx and was meant to be used.

Dispatchers were supposed to get this book as well and are supposed to
incorporate train pacing into their everyday "dispatching"
actvities,

Per csx rules if a line of road train is stopped for more than 30
minutes the dispatcher is supposed to let you know how long you will be
there and you are to shut down all but one loco(isolate in cold
weather).

Dispatchers responsiblities per csx:

They should have understanding of fuel conservation practices related
to loco and train movement and apply them.
Must have basic knowledge of how to efficiently utilize motive power
and...
SHOULD PLAN TRAIN MEETS SO THAT UNNECESSARY TRAIN STOPPING IS
MINIMIZED. INSTEAD OF STOPPING A TRAIN THE DISPATCHER SHOULD USE TRAIN
PACING! The dispatcher should provide anticipated length of delay to
the engineer. The engineer when notified WILL THEN PACE THE
MOVEMENT(OPERATE AT REDUCED SPEED).
When this doesnt happen its the engineers call as when to reduce speed
for a good meet according to radio transmissions received from other
trains.
Per csx managment: On level tangent track, reducing speed from 50 mph
to 40 mph will save 16% in fuel. Not only does csx want you to reduce
speed when you can to save fuel, but they encourage it! Do not let a
dispatcher intimidate you into running your train faster than you feel
is safe to handle your train properly.
Per the FRA, you can not be forced into running your train faster than
you feel is necessary to safely move your train.
Faulty power, unresponsive dispatchers, weather, slow orders, work
areas, bad radios, inaccurate detectors, jumpy eot's, farming season,
excessive traffic and pedestrians(parades, etc.) and to many other
things to mention, can alter the way YOU HANDLE YOUR TRAIN! Most of all
remember you are the one who has to answer all the questions if anything
goes wrong. You are the one who is sitting there when they down load
that black box! NOT THE DISPATCHER! They only know bits and peices of
what going on out there from what they hear on the radio. They cant see
the big picture from their monitors. You went to engineer school. You
took the training and you are the one holding the license to run that
train. ITS YOUR CALL!

Hey Robert:

It's Friday night...and unfortunately you won't get lucky this
weekend either...so perhaps you can scour the Internet for news of the
great oppressors murdering innocent idiots.

When you find it, feel free to post it and make yourself look like a

HOOVER – Ryan Phebus was arrested March 2 after Hoover Police received
four reports of a man presenting himself as a police officer then
stealing money from 10 victims.

Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis said Phebus, 29, targeted apartment
complexes off Lorna Road. Derzis said Phebus appeared to target
Hispanics as his victims.

PhebusPhebus approached victims while wearing a shirt or jacket that
resembled a police uniform and a badge around his neck. In some of the
incidents, Phebus asked some victims for identification, and then took
money from their wallets. Others, he robbed victims at gunpoint,
according to Derzis.

After Phebus drove away in a white Chevrolet Malibu, victims called the
police and reported the robberies.

Phebus was taken into custody on March 4 around 3:40 p.m. He was
charged with four counts of first-degree robbery and one count of
impersonating a police officer. Phebus is being held in the Jefferson
County Jail without bond.

According to Derzis, additional incidents may still be unreported,
possibly from Shelby County. Hoover Police are requesting any
additional victims come forward. The Crimes Against Persons Unit may be
contacted at 739-6730. A Spanish-speaking detective can be reached at
444-7534.

Good morning Robert:

There you go again, listening to the media.

Look at the picture...the train was headed east, the truck north.
It was struck at or slightly behind the drivers door. The exhaust
stacks are pretty obvious and the trailer is wrapped around the
engine.

Had this occurred at speed on the main, the engine would have blown
right through the truck and fire by forty or more car lengths.

I think the article said the trailer MIGHT have had diesel in it!

Question, why do you think so many people are coming forward to say life
at CSX is no life at all and comparing it to a Nazi prison camp. Because
it is true. Find an employee get to know them ,ask their family , what
hardships affected their family life; you will hear stories that will
make you believe they brutalize their employees and enjoy it.
