    Anyone who's worked around the clock has either seen, or experienced first-hand, the inevitable effects of sleep deprivation. Maybe it was you, maybe it was the jitney driver, maybe it was....

    The real fun is when someone tries to explain to the crew-caller that they are too tired to go to work.

You know as well as anyone else in this business it is all just smoke
and mirrors.  All they have to do in make it look like they are making
and effort to inspect the trains. One good example is this get down on
the ground and inspect when a train passes you when your stopped. The
rules state that a proper roll by inspection must be done at 10 MPH! 
Not 50 or 60 like most trains do when passing a stopped train. Second,
if it was so important they would make you stop every time you pass
another train on double main instead of letting you do an inspection
from inside the cab. But then both trains would have to stop and do a
walking inspection of each other. You cant inspect each other from the
ground if one of you is running. We all know it is a joke how
inspections are done in the terminals. It is understandable that trains
need to keep moving on line of road but there is no excuse ever for
cutting corners when trains are leaving a terminal. That's why no crew
should ever just say that another train has a highball. They should
always say....."Every thing looks good from what I could see!"  It's
just one big joke on these inspections. The FRA knows it. The USDOT
knows it. Its about moving freight. It isn't about safety. You would
think if they really wanted to act like they gave a crap and really
wanted to do inspections the best they could, they would have all
trains slow down to 10 mph to be inspected. But they don't.  What
would 10 mph cost them? They already run trains underpowered and don't
run track speed half the time any way! The "TO" runs under all the
time. They have nothing to lose slowing trains down to 10 mph per roll
by inspection rules. You still may not be able to catch everything but
it would be a hell of a lot better than trying to see anything at 50-60
mph! Especially at night!

more the STB would not allow this and it would have to be announced on
the companyís website along with stock news. No one in Jacksonville has
heard of this not has any other level of management. Do your home work
